Play a friendly game on the bocce court or gaze at the stars from one of our two fire pits. Bocce Court
Tracing its lineage back to games played in the Roman Empire, bocce developed into its present form in Italy. The object is to get your balls closer to the target ball, called the pallino, than your opponent’s balls, via an underhand toss. Anyone can play and your suite comes with its own bocce ball set.
Fire Pits
Penumbra features two fire pits just steps from the suites. Chat about the day’s adventures or gaze out at the parklands and mountains beyond. And nighttime star-gazing is something you don’t want to miss.
River Trail
Enjoy a scenic walk down to the Verde River on our rustic River Trail that starts just a few steps from the suites. You’ll may see the resident blue heron, nesting eagles, and playful river otters along the way.

The Town of Clarkdale is a dark-sky compliant community, so the stars shine especially bright here in our big desert skies. And glorious sunsets are a regular sight to behold.
